Stumbled across your blog by accident…wow!! Feeling very inspired and equally insignificant as I move through the evidence of an amazing talent. I was searching online for a scarf pattern and love your chunky moss stitch scarf – I’d love to know where you got the pattern!
Thank you Susan 🙂 The scarf isn’t actually from a pattern, all you do for moss stitch is cast on as many stitches as you want your scarf wide making sure you have an odd number, then knit 1, purl 1, knit 1 across the row. The next row you do the same. Keep doing rows until your scarf is long enough and cast off in pattern. Add a fringe if you want.
Thanks! Only recently taking up knitting do all a bit new! Was wondering was size needles. And wool weight you used as I’m having trouble getting.my scarves chunky enough! Good luck with your next project!
Susan, different countries use different ways of classifying both needlle and wool size so I’ll give several conversions. Needles:Metric 7mm, USA about 10.5, UK 3. Wool: I used two balls of wool run together of Double knit or light worsted or 8 ply.Hope this helps. Super bulky , super chunky or 16 ply would give a similar thickness.
