Making my little sister’s wedding cake was pure fun, probably because she was so relaxed about the final outcome. My favourite cake recipe is a mud cake recipe which never fails and gives a good base to work with. A sample of the theme material gave inspiration for the purple and blue flowers and the painted tiles on top and musical note cut outs brought in their love of the arts and music. Thanks for sharing your very special and fun day with us 🙂

I acknowledge that two cool mornings and and a sprinkle of rain doesn’t mean that winter is imminent but one hasto have something on the needles! I really, really like using this Sublime ‘Henry Tank’ knitting pattern and also thought the ‘burda 9792’ shirt pattern was easy to follow.

crocheted christmas tree 002After seeing one of these at Christmas time I had to have a go at making one. All you do is make concentric sized circles of crochet, choosing whatever colour combination you want to finish with. Novelty wool on the last few rows gives a textured finish. Stan made me a dowling and wood base, choose whatever size you want to finish with- a short and fat tree or a long elegant tree. Thread your circles on to the dowling, decorate with beads and baubles and hey presto, you’re done! Thanks for the idea, Lynnie 🙂
