Another quilt for the Grey Wing at Rangiura Home, this time it’s a grey warbler on a pin wheel block background. The flowers are because the blossoms are coming out and it’s feeling like spring!

Have just finished this wall hanging for the Grey Wing at Rangiura. It commemorates the land that Wally Grey donated for the home back in the 70’s and the business he had locally making concrete posts and later on the business which became Greyson’s Gates. Trying to bring all of the South Waikato elements in was a challenge. These included the forestry, dairy cows, mountains around us, native birds, bee hives and lushness of the green grass. It’s a great place to live!
This tunic for Lydia is modified from ‘thrifty knits’ free pattern, ‘Henry’s Manly Baby Vest’. Cast on 10 more stitches than the pattern and gradually decrease to give the shape.
Thank you for the free 4 ply baby hat pattern found on murdenkim.wordpress, I just added the long bit to knot at the top. The ‘Bo Peep’ bootees are from an old Paragon bootee booklet and the cardigan is a Paton’s classic cardigan.
