I was rather taken with this curved patchwork block, the tutorial on Molly Flanders blog gives excellent instructions how to make it. I made theĀ 12 inch block but it can easily be resized down to nine or six inches. This was my first attempt at straight line quilting a full sized quilt using a walking foot and half inch spacing. Probably my last attempt too, much slower than free motion quilting and not as interesting to do. I do like the overall effect though, it does give it a modern feel. The finished quilt is 72 x 84 inches.

The cheerful rooster fabric dictated the colour choices for this quilt. I made an oopsie down in the corner which was easily covered up by enlarging the rooster on the fabric via the scanner, then using the copy to make an applique rooster.
