Having more time than usual after work and weekends it’s been great to have something fun to concentrate on during this lockdown time. A family who also work for Trinity Lands had a baby boy just before the lockdown started, I feel for all the new mums out there who don’t have the support around them that they would normally have. I’ve been thinking of this little family lots, as I looked for animals from India that might fit each colour band. I’m almost sad that this tummy time floor quilt is finished cos it was so much fun to make!

It’s been a while since I purchased a lino cut print from last year’s craft show. At last I’ve finished embroidering the bush scene and added appliqued birds on the border.

It’s always fun to find just the right denim skirt to turn into a bag. Not too wide at the top, long enough to cut a strap from the bottom, no gathers and plenty of pockets to make it interesting. The bonus was costing 80 cents at the op shop!raspberries-denim-bag-from-skirt-005

Years ago I saved one of my son’s school painting projects from the bin thinking that ‘one day’ I’d use it for something. With some added applique it’s now heading to Rangiura as a wall hanging, show casing some of the flora and fauna found around our local water ways.

Another quilt for the rest home planned in collaboration with Yvonne. She drew me a fantastic cow and I filled it in with fabric and thread. We’ve put it on top of an old, tired itijeme quilt that had passed it’s best … quilt recycling! I was inspired by a master of collage and thread painting, Sophie Standing, take a look at her stuff on line, it’s amazing.
