I enjoyed making this retro caravan cot quilt so much, each caravan was a little adventure. It also gave me a canvas to do lots of variety of machine quilting.
3 July 2017 So many people have asked me for this pattern that I need to clarify that I’m sorry but I don’t have a pattern. Below I have put the page of images I gathered from the internet and then copied them by hand to the size I wanted. I used a similar technique to this tutorial http://sewlikemymom.com/the-ultimate-applique-post/ to turn the drawings into applique. Give it a go, it’s not that hard 🙂 The images below aren’t mine but belong to other talented people!
Love, love, love! This is amazingly cool. -x-
My grandson Max is 8, he has autism and he is obsessed with travel trailers!!! I love this quilt and I want to show it to him but then he will want me to make one for him!!! Truly amazing!!!
Thank you for your comment Nan, all the best with your little grandson.
Do you have a pattern I can purchase for this quilt?
I’m sorry Melissia but there is no pattern. I make up my own applique in a similar manner to this tutorial from ‘Sew Like My Mom.” Hope it helps. http://sewlikemymom.com/the-ultimate-applique-post/
this is absolutely gorgeous. It would be wonderful to have it as a pattern. Congratulations on the quilt
Thanks Philipa, feel free to draw a pattern up to share with others 🙂
If you go to Annie’s they have a similar pattern.
Just curious if you sold or had the pattern I’m very interested in making your little caravan quilt
Sorry Sheri, there isn’t a pattern. I found caravan shapes that I liked on the internet and drew them the size that I wanted. From there I made up applique similar to the technique shown in ‘Sew like My Mom.’ http://sewlikemymom.com/the-ultimate-applique-post/ Hope this helps.
That is so cute how do I get the patteren love this
Thanks Debbie, sorry but there is no ‘pattern’. If you can find an image that you like then you can turn it into applique. I made up this quilt copying other people’s images since I can’t draw for nuts. This site gives you the basic idea, all the best. http://sewlikemymom.com/the-ultimate-applique-post/
Just fabulous! I will make similar for the bed in my camper. And I will use it as my TV watching blankly in the winter months. I just love camping!
Good on you Ann Marie!
Very clever idea and well executed. Want to try this. Have you considered publishing your pattern? Jae
Thanks Janelle for your comment. Someone offered to sell it as a pattern but I don’t feel they are my original images. Most of the shapes are from images I found online 🙂
Simply Gorgeous! I’ve included your inspiring quilt in our latest craft roundup. https://craftylikegranny.com/a-day-is-not-complete-without-craft/ Thanks for sharing 🙂 Cheers Emily
Love the quilt . Would love to see All the campers to try and make them myself. How can I get the pattern
Maria, I have scanned the page of images I used and put them at the end of the original post. Hope you find them helpful.
as a fellow artist i wanted to point something out to you. I have had others use images of my work in the past and it is so frustrating but also illegal. I am not sure if you allowed this company to use your quilt image or not, but thought you might like to know in case they did not have your permission! It was so strange that i happened to pin your quilt this morning and some one in my trailer group posted a link to these shoes! https://www.usgearlaunch.com/products/retro-camper-low-top-shoe?variant=219412463636
just thought you might appreciate knowing about this!
That is so weird seeing my quilt on a pair of shoes! No, there was no permission given and it’s the first I know of it. Thanks for letting me know, not sure what I’ll do…
Reblogged this on Bruvtravels.
Gosh I wish you sold these!
Sorry! Maybe you could have a go at drafting a pattern 🙂
PATTERN?
Sorry Pat, no pattern. Hope you can find one elsewhere or have a go drawing a pattern up 🙂
Where can I get the pattern for the retro camper quilt
Sorry Judy, I didn’t see your comment until just now! Have a look at the other comments, there are a few suggestions from other people. Hope by now you found what you wanted!
What a beautiful quilt! Do you ever sell you art pieces?
Hi Ingycalifornia, no I don’t sell any art pieces. Long, long ago I sold the odd thing, but my craft is now all for relaxation from my real job 🙂
Understand. I was hopeful— your quilt is just incredibly beautiful. I wish I could make such a piece but not all of us are talented like you my dear.
Thank you for your time.

Wow – what a beautiful quilt. Am cooking mum’s Sunday lunch so checking for blackcurrant pie recipe. Having seen this, am going to investigate website further. What inspiration. Definite spark of joy to see this quilt. Thank you for posting the images.
Thank you for your kind comments Alison, hope you find inspiration. I certainly enjoy seeing what other people are doing, trust you found a good pie recipie 🙂
